Pressing FN + F4 once, the external monitor will not display and portable LCD screen.

Pressing FN + F4 twice, the external monitor will be displayed and there will be some shadows on the laptop LCD screen.

Pressing FN + F4 three times, both laptop LCD and external display.

If the problem persists in the external monitor, then this could be due to defective video card in the laptop. However, if the screen on the external monitor is fine, then the problem is with the LCD display panel of the notebook.

Incase, if the laptop is off, then the problem is caused by an internal hardware malfunction. In all cases, the diagnosis requires a detailed notebook on the ground by a service technician.
