If I overcharge my laptop battery?

Question: Overloading on my laptop battery will reduce life expectancy? Answer:

First, it is important to understand what the overhead is:
Overloading occurs when the charger keeps the battery at a temperature that is hot to touch (body temperature), while in ready status.

The Li-Ion batteries provide portable controller chip to prevent overcharging, as they may explode if it is overloaded. Overcharging does not affect the life that is not potentially destroy the battery.

A lithium-based battery should not be allowed to warm in a charger. If you have this happen, the battery is bad or the charger is not working properly. Stop using the battery or charger if this happens.

A lithium ion battery can be damaged by extensive overcharging (continuously on a charger for more than 24 hours). The damage to the battery from overcharging occur only in the very unlikely event of a malfunction of the charging system.
